Poppy Pod Centerpiece

Sometimes floral arrangements don’t need many flowers.

I must admit, though I call myself a “floral designer”, or tell people that I “work with flowers” that is a bit misleading. I really should tell people I work with… nature. Or things that are alive. Or beautiful things. Flowers are many things in their life cycle. They start out as  bud, they turn into a flower, or fruit, or berry, and then often become something even more interesting! Seed pods, sticks, husks… flowers give us such a range to work with, why not use it all?

This table arrangement finds its congruency in three elements: the color orange, an oval shape, and the use of things other than flowers. Kumquats, poppy pods, other seeds, geranium leaves, moss.
