Plant of the Week: Lunaria Annua

Commonly known as Money Plant.

As a kid who loved to use anything and everything as “food” or “supplies” for all sorts of play houses in the backyard, the money plant was gold. It could double as salad, play money, or decoration as needed. Even now, all grown up, I can’t help but feel excited – like I’ve found a treasure – whenever I come across the ever changing Lunaria Annua (especially in it’s pod form). It’s usefulness is happily not limited to primary schoolers with overactive imaginations. The thin, light green stems with smooth pods are airy yet substantial and can add height without too much mass. Let your imagination take over and enjoy being a kid again.
